Dr. Lori E. Brakhage has more than 20 years of combined experience in communications (internal/media), leadership development, government and community relations, corporate compliance, and organizational dynamics.

As the principal, founder and owner of Apex Collective Strategies, LLC (APEX), Lori's areas of expertise and passion are deeply interconnected. She provides a unique approach to solving operational pain points through positively impacting organizational culture, business relationships, leadership development, and communication strategies, thus increasing business growth and profit.

Attending graduate school at Southern Methodist University full-time while running a consulting business, Lori understands an organization's culture through both an academic and practical lens.

Before establishing APEX, Lori held positions with increasing responsibility at one of the largest 100% S-ESOP general construction companies in the Southwest. Lori’s extensive corporate experience is characterized by her proven delivery of strategic solutions within the areas of Corporate Communications, Government and Community Relations Liaison, and Corporate Compliance Officer.

With experience as both an in-house and external Board of Director's adviser for various organizations, Lori's drive and ability to understand the business culture reflects a curious, competent, and results-oriented approach to a company's people and processes.

Lori holds a Doctorate of Liberal Studies with dual focus in linguistic anthropology and organizational behaviors and a Master's degree in organizational dynamics and communications/media/technology (CMT). As a scholar-practitioner, Lori combines academia with an executive-level aptitude and commonsense methodology.
